Do you realise how many question are ased here daily that are practically the same as yours?
Yes abortion is murder in a moral sense but if abortion didn't exist then we would be horribly over populated.
Centuries ago a large proportion of babies died before, during or shortly after birth, now in this medicalised wold nearly all babies live so without abortion or contraception we would be in big trouble.
I personally wouldn't be able to do it but I am glad that other people do.

I think everyone is a hypocrite to some degree actually. I favor both capital punishment and oppose abortion, so I am the opposite of your scenario. What I oppose about abortion though is that it is being used as birth control incorrectly. I favor a militant society, call it facism I guess, where (like the Romans and Spartans) the weakest litter are terminated and the strong are granted the privilege, not the right to exist.
But, in reality, that will never happen again, not for a long time anyway. Still, I think if you have an abortion, and it isn't for health reasons or due to being assaulted, then you have forever forfeited your right to procreate. Thus, if you have an abortion out of convenience (and you kill a baby) that is your last one, you are sterilized and therefore will be a lot less likely to have an abortion out of convenience.
I think we give people too much freedom anyway, take a crack mother for instance, not only should she not have a child, she should never be able to bring a child into the world, period. What I abhor isn't the terminating of the child, I abhor the actions of the parents. So, terminating a child before they have the privelege of life to horrible parents seems merciful to me. And in that same way, I favor putting down rabid dogs, as in capital punishment, to get the death penalty you have to kill with premeditation, maybe they should meditate about what it will be like to ride Old Sparky before they commit pre-meditated murder.
And to all the people that will blast me for my opinion about abortion, that is fine. There never cease to be babies in jars even after Roe vs. Wade, so don't tell me suspending it would make those women suffer, they are able to have the operation now yet they give birth to the baby and suffocate it in a jar when it enters life. Those women should ride Old Sparky, just like the cold blooded murderers do.
Watch Starship Troopers or read the book for what I think society should be like. Only veterans are given the right to vote, and you have to apply for a license to have a baby, period. Wouldn't that make for an interesting society?
I quote Keanu Reeves, "In this country you need a license to drive, hunt, hell, even fish, but they will let any _______ moron be a father." - Food for thought? I don't know, maybe I am nuts, maybe I am not.

Actually the Federal definition and legal definition of murder does not include the killing of embryos as murder. I myself am pro-choice, however I do think young girls need to start using their brains and stop using abortion as the new birth control. I don't think that people should use abortion because of gender issues...instead give the child up for adoption or here's an idea, the word, "no." If people are so worried about the gender of their child then why do they even have intercourse to begin with? I myself am for capital punishment depending on the crime and the suspect's circumstances. If the suspect planned to kill someone, or had enough sense to be able to kill someone and is completely sane, then I think capital punishment should be an option. My tax dollars are going to feed, house and give these criminals an education when my mother and who are hardworking people find it financially difficult to do that for ourselves. Put the money into better law enforcement and education, so then maybe little teenage girls won't be whinning about how they might be pregnant all because they didn't say "no" or at the very least use protection and so that our corrections officers have safer enviornments and newer technology to catch dangerous criminals. No, not "all" of us are hypocrites. Some of us think through our options.

I suppose you can call me a hypocrite but i support capital punishment, and do not support abortion. I know its said that you cannot be pro-life and anti-life at the same time, but in capital punishment its bc the people have done something to deserve to die, but an abortion is wrong, the child didnt ask for the parents to have sex and be created so why kill another living being for you own mistakes.
and gigi is completely right when giving an abortion they use an ultrasound to see what they are doing and if it really wasnt a baby it wouldnt be trying to get away from it, the poor thing jerks in pain as its being MURDERED. try to find an abortion video, im sure they have them online somewhere, its disgusting, sad, and wrong.

I support the death penalty but I do not support abortion. The reason being is that when a baby is aborted, especially for gender reasons, it is not the childs fault--he/she did nothing wrong, and I think it's wrong to kill a baby because you don't want it or think you can't handle it. There a lot of alternatives to abortion. The death penalty, however, is not just randomly handed out. The people on death row have a reason for being there--they weren't pulled from their houses for no reason. Capital punishment is a consequence for their actions. There is a huge difference in killing a helpless child and killing a convicted murderer. An eye for an eye.

Capital punishment and abortion may result in ending life, but they are COMPLETELY different issues. Capital punishment is done when someone is accused of some serious crime, when the accused has done damage so severe that mere life imprisonment wont justify the punishment for those crimes. Agreed, the death of a criminal wont end the crime but can most surely send a strong message to those with criminal minds.
As for abortion, it is completely justified if a mother wants to let go of her unborn child. It is so easy for people like you to condemn this act, but have you considered the dire situations due to which a woman has to take this decision ?? She may have been a victim of a rape or marital oppression or simply cant afford to have a baby, which forced her into this. It is her her sole right to decide whether or not she wants to have that baby. And let me tell you, it is not an easy decision for ANY mother to go for abortion, to end a life she has been nurturing inside her. A lot of factors come into play...... rape being one. Second, it may an accident and the couple may not be ready emotionally or financially for a new member in the family. Third, the doctors may have caught some major developmental problems with the fetus, which requires the mother to terminate her pregnancy whether she is ready or not. And latter happened to me. So I completely support the issue of abortion.
However, your question is not as much about abortion as it is about fetocide. When it comes to ending a pregnancy based on the sole criteria of gender, yes..... that should be viewed as coldblooded murder. I totally agree with you on this part. Parents, who have planned the pregnancy, and have all intentions of going all the way.... should not harm the healthy unborn based on its gender. That is most certainly a crime! If you ask me, I would say that those parents should be given capital punishment as final justice, and to give them a taste of their own medicine! Hence serving a lesson to potential others.

A lot of people who are against the death penalty are also against slavery. Outlawing abortion would force thousands of women to carry children in their bodies for 9 months, and risk serious medical complications, which is tantamount to slavery. They would be forced to be human incubators to a child that is unwanted. They wouldn't have a say over their own bodies. A fetus doesn't become a baby until it is born, and until that point it has no rights, and that's how it should be.
If you really want to stop abortions, then you should support comprehensive sex education in schools, and make sure that our children are educated about sex and that they have easy acces to birth control. Kids will have sex no matter what we do or what we teach them, so we should be pragmatic about it and make sure that they are safe and know how to avoid pregnancy.

I believe that people that support abortion are heartless, cruel, vicious, bastards, Or just fools. I will never understand how they can tear apart a child that is inside the womb of the mother and be OK with it. I have shown some people that thought that abortion was OK some pictures of aborted babies and it made them so sick most of them had nightmares for several nights. It also changed their minds. Our media soft sells Abortion by saying that it is a fetus. NO, it is a BABY!!! It has arms , legs , hands, feet, eyes, nose, mouth, heart that beats, it cries out in pain when it is being torn apart, it has feelings! People that support Abortion and think that Capital Punishment is wrong are just very dysfunctional people. They will save the life of a murder and kill and innocent baby??? These people are the true example of CRAZY. They don't know right from wrong. They should be locked up in an institution. But they are wondering the streets of our Cities, and our Country, and they are lobbing at our State Capitols. Pretty sad isn't it.??? But you know how it is , Crazy people usually cry out and make a big fuss, but the problem with that is our government officials are too dumb to tell the difference between normal and crazy people. So they actually pass laws because these nut cases are out there protesting. We need smarter Government officials.

As far as I know abortion isn't outlawed anywhere in the USA for any reason, much less to decide on a child's gender.
In fact I think the Supreme Court said its against the law to interfere with the right of a woman to have an abortion.
For the most part your argument seems like u invented your facts on a whim and tried to make them sound like the God's honest truth.
(that's a nice way of me saying you dont know what you are talking about and you are a knee jerk right wing nut job, in case that went over your head.)
I dont support the death penalty because it keeps prisoners in solitary confinement for 10 - 20 years while they waste millions of out $$ on appeals. Plus you have the issue of dishonest prosecutors and cops. Life without parole is expensive but not as much as constantly battling each case in court for decades

No. while it contains homicide, quite much no person believes that killing is wong one hundred% of the time. Self-protection is the superb occasion. If another objective is valued over protecting human existence, then the action is permitted. contained in the dying penalty, the values are punishing the responsible and protecting society, between others. In abortion, the values are protecting a woman's freedom, lowering the inhabitants of undesirable infants, etc. anybody values existence, different than while there is another fee deemed greater important. all of us save on with the comparable attempt, yet we come to diverse conclusions. that is all everyone seems to be doing, no remember if or no longer they comprehend it or no longer.
