During a prolongs oral sex session it is quite normal for the penis to go soft and get hard again several times. This is not a sign that the receiver is not enjoying it or that anything is wrong. I am curious as to the age difference between you two. Regardless, the "softness" type erection is still an erection, and age, diet, and health all affect it. It may take him longer to reach a full "hard" erection, but he is still capable of ejaculating as well as enjoying stimulation in this state of arousal. Don't worry-your giving him sex, and if it were a problem, I am certain he'd say something. Don't worry!!

Unfortunately as we age we get softer. I think what you are seeing is the natural aging process. Rest assured he is enjoying what you are doing, even though his hard-on is not what it used to be.
