Unfortunately it is still an America of opposites. People dislike others based on race, religion, age, riches... so many things that we covet. The strong judgment of another to the point that there is hate involved is racist. I worked on an rescue squad and in hospitals for 15 years. I can assure you that we all are the same on the inside. When people are concentrating on an external feature of someone they can miss who that person really is. It is a shame that with all we know today that America is still a land divided by every imaginable category there is.

Absolutely. We still find it to be a major issue on when we will be "ready" for a minority or woman President. We cannot police ourselves in equality issues, so organizations like the NFL have placed quotas on interviewing for open coaching positions, because teams would not talk to qualified coaches, as an example. There are also issues of zoning that may not seem like racism, but look at where plants and landfills are being zoned. Definitly not next to any country clubs. There are way too many ways racism still exist to list. It is such a shame to only say "What a shame". We need to turn shame into action. A good place to start is to consider any open land for any development to fulfill community need, regardless of location or affluence. And also to set aside vacant property in poorer areas for community improvement. Parks and community gardens would be very positive.

yes because when the gov says the word "illegal aliens" they always refer to mexicans... and that's not fair because we are ALL immigrants in this country... and i think it's stupid for a race to claim ownership of a piece of land... it's like saying "this piece of air is mine, don't breath from it!" thats just STUPID...
