Is it like Myspace where you can see their pictures and info if they don't make it private or do you have to be their friend to see that stuff?

if you are in their network, like same school or region, you can see their profile and pictures and stuff unless they have their privacy settings so that only their friends can see all or certain parts of their profile. If you are not their friend or in their network you can not see their profile.

with facebook you can see their picture but thats it, you need to be a friend to see detailed info.
