hi i feed my cichlids their food sticks, but find it very messy in my tank, is it allright just to feed them tropical flakes and bloodworms, x

my cichlids are new just had them a week, they are 3 to 4 cm long, still very shy of me, and dont eat when i put food in, but they will come out after about five minutes to eat, but by then everything breaks up and i cant get the food out as it dissolves, when will they come to me at meal times as im only suppose to but in enough for them to eat in 30 seconds,

Just fee them only the tiniest bit of food for now. Many cichlids are very shy at first, and the will come around on their own.

Bloodworms are great for most cichlids, though it's very unhealthy for many mbuna. Still, it's not meant to be a staple and they need the pellets for a full diet.

Tropical flakes will also make the tank messy and the water cloudy. Bloodworms is very good, but if you continue just feeding one type of food, the fishes will not grow well. The link below will help you to decide on various types of Cichlid food:
