I suppose it begins at birth, or not?

2007-03-29 15:21:29 · answer #1 · answered by L U K E 7 · 3 0

Life I agree begins when you born.
Then you have the years with now worries at all
Then the pressure beings, with study, spots, peer group and so on
Then you go through the early what shall I do years with my life
Then you get your partner your mortgage, your children, and life is quite stressfull
Then if your luck enough you still have a relationship, and you are friends
You think you children have left home but they never really leave
Then you hit 40/50 life starts slowing down abit so I suppose you can say it gets better around this time.

You should then start to think of what coming next, what do i want to do, retire young and go and do the things that I missed when I was young, or do I have responsabilities to look after others, so there we ar back to the stress we thought we were going to get rid of.

Oh then we may become Grandparents, oh what a joy, we can hand the grandchildren back so no worries there.

Well even in you 70's you can still feel forty, so now I do not think life begins at 40 I think we just go through differnt stages in our life and we think it is better a some ages than others.

I am still young at heart and I am in my 50's I have to think sometimes, not to do things as I am getting older, and people may take it the wrong way. Oh well don't worry be happy

Being only 3 months away from the big 40, I certainly hope things will look up.
I think it all comes from the realisation of approaching 40 that you've had a fair chunk of your life, and whilst it may feel things are in a rut, it's the kick we need to do something new & different and that's what makes all the difference.
In the last few months I've made a determined effort to turn things around & now there's not enough time to do all the things I want to do! So yes, my life's definately picked up!

I got married young had four children by the time I was 29. Basically left school at 18, loads of book learning and no sense! married the first man who asked me; separated at 34; met someone else at 36; had a baby for him at 39. He left when I was 40. I put my life back together again, put five children through school; two through college; have run four full marathons, my first at 46; am back at college myself. the older I get, the more I want to do. Yes, I would say, life definitely began for me at 40.
It depends on the person. some people are old at 40. I just never think I am getting any older - in my heart, I still believe I'm 18; and maybe that's the secret.

The saying 'life begins at 40' stems from Ancient Greece. The goddess Vesta had virgins serving her in her temple, you've probably heard of the 'Vestal Virgins'. Anyway, the Vestal Virgins were kept in service to Vesta until they reached the age of 40, when, if they so chose, they could leave the temple and do anything they wanted with their life... get married, join the Amazons, whatever...

So yeah, if you're a Vestal Virgin, in a sense life does begin at 40.... if you're not, then it's really up to you, but it's probably best to get a head start, y'know, don't wait too long if you don't have to.

Absolutely life begins at 40, specially cause your beliefs now in religion, human being, society and the knowledge of yourself, who you are, what you want to do now becomes clear after you find your own truth and had left back all the taboos and imposed taboos.

You don´t HAVE to do things that you really don´t WANT to and even if your position is not good, at least you very well know what you want, you don´t believe any more in promises or obligations, your quotes of lost or stupidities gives you the confident to go for more and be much more yourself.

Of course is wonderful to be young and pretty, but certainly you will discover that to be stupid is a really big handicap for your happiness.

the 40 is a good point where energy, intelligence and experience set you in the good path, don´t let you set back for "youngsters" of these years who believes that you are old after 25, this happens only when the only thing you got is a pretty face.

Not anymore-I would say life now begins at 50!

This is because a woman's lifestyle has changed insomuch they are financially independant and can afford to choose when they want to start a family..alot tend to put motherhood on hold until their biological clock gets the better of them, which is around 40!!

So naturally the man and woman are tied down for the next 18 years or so..child rearing.

No it doesn't. The reason why they always said that life begins at 40 is because most people married young, had children and then those children would leave at a reasonable age. This meant that parents would have a new life starting at about 40.

Unfortunately these days it doesn't hold true - people have children later and the kids stay at home until their 30's.

I really hope it does, I am 38 in two weeks time, I love being in my 30s, but a bit scared of going into my 40s, only because most of the people I know in their 40s seem more unstable than me, but hey bring it on, I hope I do not loose the plot and become atomic mutton, I would like to think that I can enjoy that stage in my life as much as the rest of it before hand ( without making a fool of myself )
