Suave's Advanced Formula of Medicated Relief for Severly Dry Skin. If you don't break out easily, you can use this on your face as well...I do and my skin is fine afterwards. Also, it lasts 24 hours. Good news is it has a light fragrance so it smells good and it costs about $2 for a bottle...so you're not paying for a name. In my opinion it works a crap load better than any Aveeno product, which I thought was good, until I used it.
You can make even the cheapest moisturizer work for your skin by making sure before you apply it your skin is damp. Even the most expensive and medicated lotion/cream won't work if you're applying it do dry skin. This is because when your skin is damp it's able to soak up and hold in the moisture better rather than if you're putting lotion on dry skin...all it's doing is lathering the first layer, when it really needs to go deeper and it can't do this because of lack of moisture.

I like using Cetaphil, it's a good basic lotion with no fragrances or extra "stuff". There's a body lotion with no SPF and a face lotion with SPF. You can find it in drugstores and it isn't too expensive.

If you have sensitinve skin or want something really light try baby lotion. Babies have the most sensitive skin so their products are pretty safe.

Pure Shea Butter. It is wonderful, but if you decide to try it sample it first to see if you may be allergic. L'Occitane is my favorite brand. If you live in an area where there is a L'Occitane store or a Sephora store you can test it before you buy.
Good Luck!

Try Nivea, just the regular stuff in the blue tub. It works wonders and you can use it on your body and face.
