Personally I think it is the '70's Steelers. The Steel Curtain was the best D in history and we were the first team win 4 Super Bowls (all proven facts).

Tough question. There are two teams I'm thinking of, and I'll give reasons for both. Anyone who has read my posts knows I'm a Steelers fan, so there is a little bias, but not much.

From 1960-1967, the Packers won 5 NFL championships and the first 2 SBs. They won 3 titles in a row, something that hadn't been done before. Out of 10 postseason games, they only lost one(1960 championship). They failed to make the postseason twice(1963, 1964). They did all this without ever having the leading passer, or the leading defense. They only had 1 runner lead the league.(Jim Taylor-1962)

From 1972-1979, the Steelers won 7 division titles, 4 AFC championships, and 4 SBs. During this time, they lost only 3 postseason games, but the postseason was longer in the 70s. The Steelers never had the leading rusher during this time, and Bradshaw led the league in passing 1 time(1978). The defense was at the top every year, and their best team was the one that never made it to the SB(1976).

The thing that made the Packers great, was how Vince Lombardi could take the players that were there, and adapt them to his system.

The thing that made the Steelers great was that Chuck Noll brought in his own players so that his system was the only one they would know.

Injuries and retirements were the Steelers downfall.

With the Packers, it was Lombardi leaving the sidelines.

I give the Steelers the edge, because of the way the NFL was set up in the 60s. The Packers were in a weaker league, with their only real competition at the time being Dallas. The Steelers would have to face Houston and Cincinnatti twice every year, and a team like Oakland, Denver, Miami, or Baltimore in the playoffs.

Well it would have to be the 80's/90's 49ers. While the Steelers may have been the first to win 4 supers bowls, the 49ers were the first to win 5. Not only that but they did it over 2 decades of time, and they contended every single year. Another worthy note is that the 49ers have never lost a super bowl. The Cowboys are 5-3 in super bowls. Good numbers, yes, but the 49ers, of all the teams to actually make 5 super bowls, are the ONLY team with a perfect record. Pittsburgh is 5-1 all time, Dallas is 5-3 as mentioned above, New England is 3-2, Oakland/L.A. Raiders are 3-2, Washington is 3-2, Miami is 2-3, and Denver is 2-4. In fact, through all of the Super Bowls only 3 other teams (the Ravens, the Jets and the Buccaneers) are undeafeated at all, and those teams only played in 1 super bowl each.

The '70s Steelers and the '80s 49ers were the best. The Steel Curtain defense was the best defense and the first to win 4 Super Bowls while the 49ers offense revolutionized the game and also won 4 Super Bowls.

1960s Green Bay Packers or 1970s Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers had the same players on all four Super Bowl teams unlike the 80s 49ers who only had 6 play on all four of their SB teams. In 1974 they drafted 4 future hall-of-famers and have 10 hall-of-famers from the 1970s. In 1978 their defense was made up entirely of Pro-bowlers, past pro-bowlers and future pro-bowlers. The 1978 Steelers are arguably the best team ever and would have beat the over-rated1985 Chicago Bears.

The 1960s Packers won 3 NFL championships in the early 60s and the first two Super Bowls in the late 60s. They definitely had the greatest coach ever in Vince Lombardi.
The 1966 Packers are arguably the best team ever and also would have beat the over-rated1985 Chicago Bears.

The 70's Steelers. Everyone forgets the past of the franchise and remembers the 70's on. It brought a certain mystic to the Franchise. Also only team to win 4 Superbowls in 6 years. Oh and final proof? ESPN's Match up of the Millennium. Millennium Bowl was the 80's 49ers against the 70's Steelers and the Steelers won.

i personally would agree to this the Steelers steel curtain is proven to be the best solid defense with the best squad of members and you dont just win 5 super bowls without winning 4 the fastest and winning 4 the first the '49ers may have had a 17 year run but did they win the superbowls every year no, so I choose the steel curtain and The Pittsburg steelers

As an organization I would have to go with the Cowboys. Nobody has done more as organization for themselves as well as the league than the Dallas Cowboys.

Go back and take a look at the TV innovations of Tex Schramm and what that did for the NFL as a whole. Tex has made quite a few people more than their fair share of Millions if not Billions, simply by being the innovative thinker of his day. He formed the Dallas Cowboys and helped to transform the NFL.

Move forward to the next era, the Jerry Jones Cowboys and you find yet another transformation taking place. Jerry brought about Free Agency as well as a massive amount of Marketing/Advertising revenue. Jerry was the Mark Cuban of the NFL and forced the NFL to change its ways.

In addition to these two individuals and the countless innovations that they have brought to the NFL, thier teams where winners to the greatest degree. Under Tex the cowboys won 2 Superbowl Championships in the 70's losing 3, with two being to the Pittsburgh Steelers who have had their own great story to tell. The Cowboys were one to two plays away from being THE team of the 70's, but saddly it was not to be...but this didn't stop them.

The Steelers managed to win one more Championship only recently to fall apart again, while the Cowboys under Jerry Jones not only returned to greatness but fielded perhaps one of the last great teams ever assembled. The 90's Cowboys went on to win 3 Superbowls in 4 years and nearly made it 4 in a row with a narrow defeat the then Champion San Francisco 49ers.

The 90's Cowboys where so dominant that they made winning Championships look easy, so easy that there was nobody who could compete with them. I always think back to Jimmy Johnson making the claim to the Media before the Cowboys faced the 49ers for the NFC Championship game...WE WILL WIN, put in 3" Bold Letters!!!

The only thing that stopped the Cowboys from winning more was Jerry Jones and his innovations for the NFL of Free Agency.

So there you have the Cowboys as the greatest NFL organization of all time and the 90's Cowboys teams as the greatest Dynasty of all time!!!

Pre-Super Bowl, I would be tempted to say the Browns or the Pack.

Post Super Bowl Dynasty: the Steelers for a single team of players, and the 49ers for a team of many incarnations.
The Cowboys (I hate them boys!!!) have had a fabulous run at success, too.

Being a huge Bengals fan it pains me to say that the Steelers of the 70's are the best dynasty team, way too much talent on both sides of the ball.

Im not a fan but i would have to agree the the 49ers with the Joe Montana through the Steve Young years was a pretty good dynasty.

If your talking about 1 team, 1 year that is one of the most dominating and talked about teams in NFL history, then its the 1985 Chicago Bears. The best D of all time with Walter Payton one of the best players in NFL history.
