i am trying to get pregnant. i am using a fertility kit right now to detect my surge. i have days that there is a faint line and days that it is negative. does faint line means i am nearing the day of ovulating?

I had 6 test with the faint line and then today got 2 bold solid lines. I was jumping with joy. Today is CD 18 and my doctor told me that I would ovulate on day 14 or 15. I am so glad I tested. Good Luck. And Keep testing.

No, the result is negative if the result line is lighter than the line that indicates that the test is working. The result line is the one closest to the arrow. You're goal is to get that line darker than the other one! I have yet to do so, but I'm still trying! GOOD LUCK! =)

No, it's considered negative. Make sure to test every day, at the same time & after limiting fluids.
