I like to eat from a plate where the entire plate is usable space (like our Corelle). The China we own only has a small circle in the middle with a rather large decorative ring around the perimeter. If you get your food on the ring, it ends up on the table in no time (what a useless design). If it were my decision alone, we'd never use the China.

I only eat off china at christmas and special occasions. Any other time I use corelle- a fine porcelain .

I have china - it was a wedding gift.
yes, we have used the china for special occasions.
It will eventually be passed on to our son.
