Well, some of the advantages of owning a guinea pig are
- they are lovable little things
- they are cute and cuddly
- they make funny noises
- they are very child friendly ( meaning that most of them are good for a learning experience for kids.)
The disadvantages of guinea pigs are:
- they are messy
- they tend to have an odor about them ( especially the male guinea pigs)
- they get lonely if by themselves, so you generally need more than one
- they tend to quite noisy
As with any pets, there are pros and cons. But with the right environment I think that they can be a good pet.

Guinea pig are very lovable, cute and pretty low matienence-- they are also hardy animals and are family friendly.

Some disadvantages are that they poop ALOT which means their cages have to be cleaned at least twice a week...and they fling their bedding out of their cage and onto the floor-- so you'll need to vaccume too! They are also very vocal-- if you don't like squeeking, then don't get one b.c they love to talk! Their food and bedding is cheap-- but their cage is kind of expensive at first-- around 50$ or so. They don't really cuddle that much and kind of do their own thing-- but they are so cute and i think you'll like one-- just be careful , b.c to be honest they get boring kinda quickly!

I think that there are tons of advantages to owning a guinea pig, if you have the time and ability to care for them. They are sooo cute and each have a personality of their own.
