Last wed I Deciced not to go back to work. I had the job for about 6 mos working 28 hours a week and was Junior Processor (mortgage corp). My job was stressing my out. I am a FT college student. I was paid 7 an hour and I started at 6. I did so much and I felt used I couldn’t take it anymore. I wasn’t even treated like a real employee. I was paid under min. wage (off the books). I am a very hard worker and when I asked for a raise and the broker said she didn’t feel I deserved one and she made a rude comment on why my parents didn't help me if I was in need of money. She also commented that my summer trip was not convenient for her even thought it was w/o pay. On Tuesday night the secretary was blow9never late)ing up my cell phone to tell me to be in at nine when that is the time I go in every day this was the last straw I couldn’t take it. It was an invasion of my time they have my school schedule. Do you think I was wrong by leaving this pathetic job w/o notice???

well regardless of the time factor you been with the company or if the job was under paying you or not it is very unprofessional to leave a job with out at least a 2 week notice. you just never know because you will need it as a job reference when you apply at another job. it was bad enough it seems like they didn't like you, but now when you apply at another place i wouldn't even use them as a reference. but what is done is done the best thing to do is find another job that is willingly to pay what youre worth.

second to the 'hell no!". 7 dollars an hour is a pittance, especially considering you have some college education and are obtaining more. I know people who live on a lot less, but still. Think about your time, and what it is worth to you. I bet if you think about it as trading hours of your life, you will realize it is worth much more. Heck, you could make two or three times that working a tipped position in a nice, busy restaurant. I've done it. A seven dollar an hour "job" is just that. There is only so much crap a person can be expected to take for that. On quitting, I say, "GOOD JOB!"

You were right to quit, but not giving notice is not going to be good if you ever try to use this job as a reference for another job.
Some advice...there are going to be drawbacks with just about any job and there is no such thing as a perfect work environment.
Good luck

You should have given notice, but I don't blame you for not giving notice.

Just say it was interfering with your courses, and don't do it again.
Good luck.

Staying in that position would have been disrespectful to yourself.
