Given the recent worldwide attacks by Islamic terrorists, why isn't the question "Is Islam evil?" With few exceptions (Turkey, for example), Islamic countries are fascist, autocratic or theocratic, where women are subjugated and minorities persecuted. Islamic countries are rife with poverty and have been for centuries. Polls show that in many Islamic countries a majority of Muslims lionize the man responsible for the atrocities of September 11th and the terrorist gangs who routinely slaughter civilians in Israeli buses and restaurants. In Arab schools and on Arab television, children are taught the glory of becoming suicide bombers. Almost everywhere that Islam borders other cultures, there is violence.

The idea, then, that Islam is evil has far more plausibility than the idea that United States is evil. But merely, raising the question, "Is Islam evil?" provokes an instant, inevitable outcry: "Bigot!" "Racist!" "Zionist!" Indeed, the attempt to suppress debate on this question is so intense that few people in the mainstream will ask it.

You cannot say that Islam is evil. A religion that is peaceful and promotes right cannot be evil. It's just that there are very good righteous Muslims, and then there are terrorists you see on the media.
And who the heck told you Arab children are taught the glory of becoming suicide bombers? You would tear if you saw the fear on some of their faces after bombing happens. I think that was very disrespectful of you targeting innocent children as bomber wannabes. Islam forbids these kinds of things, and unless Allah (God) will otherwise, these people will be punished severely.
BTW, I'm wondering where you got your sources, because the info. you put isn't accurate.

Islam itself as a religion isn't what you can describe as evil, I do not think any religion can be defined that way. Like any, Islam asks people to do good, not steal, not lie, not commit adultery, to be clean, the basic message as in most religions is if you do good you will go to heaven, if you do bad you will be punished and please do good.
The image you get of Islam in the media, is Bin Laden and El Qua3da, and poverty, most muslim nations have been there for quite a long time, old, take Egypt for an example, it's been around for thousands of years, you should put that in concideration, I am a muslim, I am far from being a terrorist and far from being evil. Like any human being, I do wrong, I do mistakes any would do, I raise my kids, take care of my home, I work, I read, do sports, play bridge, go to malls and do shopping, a normal, ordinary human being :)

No it is not Evil comes out of ignorance Ignorace of people who call themeselves muslims but are tought twisted beliefs by religious leaders, this is why Islam was NEVER MENT to have a hierarchy of religious instructors!!! By and larg most muslims are peacefull but the fact is that when a Man in canada beats his wife and hes a christian nobody says hey Christians beat their wives!!! or if a group of French kids beat a couple of black african immigrants and the french kids are catholic no one says hey The Christians beat immigrants!!!! Because people understand such things have nothing to do with religion even though the bible does give man the authority over women to beat them even...now you have a group of PISSED off CITIZENS of IRAQ angry because America invaded their country for no clear reason and these people rally about and attack America people dont say "Hey look at those Iraqui citizens attacking american soldiers!!!" they say "Hey look at those Muslims attacking soldiers!!" and indeed that is the way it is being portrayed by the MEDIA.

i wish i had more time to answer your question, but here i go. evil is a very strong word to use, but if thats how you feel then its cool. islam has many faces. there is the face of peace that is shown when they try to convert people. i went to a seminar where a muslim guy talked a lot about the U.S president and truth be told, they were not some nice things. i'm a christian and i know that we are told to obey and respect those in authority and to only differ with them when their laws conflict with God's law. i know a lot of muslims may tell you that their religion is not bad and its only some individuals who decide to do their own thing, but these muslims are deluded. the Quran, whether they admit it or not, does allow for them to practise Jihad which is their 'holy war'. i'll research some more and get you references for that. i read in the book 'the face of islam', that the prophet mohammed actually killed people who refused to convert to islam. to add to these, there are many ex-muslims who'll tell you that when they chose to leave islam, other muslims threatened their lives.
i'll get back to you soon with mo info, i have to got to class now. remember, no matta wat they say, Islam is not God's religion.

Muslims are among the most peacful hard-working people you may ever see. However, you should be careful when dealing with Islam teachings as some of them could be interpreted in violent way. Fortunately, not all Muslims are aware of those teachings. Also, many modern scholars are trying to prove that those teachings were meant for a specific period of time and are no longer valid.

No they aren't.
Try and put yourself in their place! Ask them why they are so pissed off.
They have another strict culture, one that was there long before America!
So their culture believes something you don't, and usually it is because they feel they have been wrong. They don't look at death the way you do, so if I were you, I would quit judging them by your standards as they are not theirs!
You piss enough people off and that is what you get, 9/11's!
We have made him a martyr, along with Hussein and both worked for us!
