Why are women more common to break down mentally then men?

They are more in tune with their emotions. They are not afraid to show there emotions. Unlike us guys when we show emotion we get made fun off.

agree with kittycat and chuk. men are probably more likely to break down, they just hide it more. women are always talking about their feelings, unlike men. that article says it well: "For decades, psychologists believed that men experienced depression at only a fraction of the rate of women. They mature sooner, thus age faster, "The Monthly Cycle" must take a serious toll mentally on them, constantly feeling that they are the inferior sex gives them a major inferiority complex, and birthing must be a traumatic experience for them. All these instances would attribute to a number of psycosis that are prevalant in the female breed.

They don't actually, it is just men have to cover it up due to society's expectations. Men commit suicide 4 times more often than women which is the ultimate breakdown. There was a great article on male depression in Newsweek.

They don't. Men just think they do. Actually, more often than not, it is a male who picks up a gun and goes crazy and kills people either their own family or strangers. Females have done it as well, but it's less common - usually those stories are reported nationally and make big news.
