I was a fan of hers, a big fan (but then again I was like 12). Now like two or three years later, I listen to her and realize the lyrics are kinda simple and she seems kind of ridiculous. I actually like this new song, I don't like pop but I'm not opposed to a catchy song every now and again. At least she's not trying so hard any more, and she can sing in this weird way that I can't. She was never punk rock (Not like Misfits were punk rock, not like Green Day was punk rock, not even like Bowling for Soup had their punkish moments) but now she doesn't seem so...mehh. I actually kind of like that song.

To be fair, Avril's great for what she is! She's always been pop verging on the brink of 'rock', but I think she knows it! I think her new song is catchy! The lyrics aren't gonna win her any awards, but I bet it will be all over the radio in the summer!

She was actually shooting for "Punk/Rock/Skater Gurl" but everyone should know that was fake.
What you see now is the actual Avril.
She's translated (and sings) her "Girlfriend" song in the Asian languages and a few European ones too...

i really like her new song. shows a different side of her that's for sure. she's just showing ppl that she's real and there's more to her than we know. i think it makes her an intersting person and very creative.
