Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī?) is a series of RPGs developed and published by Square Enix Co., Ltd. (formerly Square Co., Ltd.). It is the third biggest selling video game franchise of all time, having sold over 70 million units worldwide as of January 2007, trailing only Mario and Pokémon.. The franchise later branched out into other genres and platforms, such as tactical RPGs, portable games, MMORPGs and games for mobile phones. The series also spurred the release of three animated productions and two full length CGI films.

The first installment of the series premiered in Japan on December 18, 1987, and Final Fantasy games have subsequently been localized for markets in North America, Europe and Australia on numerous video game consoles, IBM PC compatible computers, and several different models of mobile phones. Future installments have been announced to appear on seventh generation video game consoles. Two upcoming titles for the PS3 include Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

As of March 2007, there are about 28 games in the franchise. This number includes installments from Final Fantasy to Final Fantasy XII, along with a few direct sequels (Final Fantasy X-2) and numerous spin-offs.

Each final fantasy game has a different story, usually the characters and stories are not tied together.

If you want to play a very good final fantasy game get Final Fantasy 3(us) (which is 6 in japan).

Final Fantasy 7 was really popular and is pretty sweet too.

Final Fantasy is unique in that where there is a new installment, it has a different storyline, new characters, and a different abilities system. No Final Fantasy is alike, even spinoffs based upon the main series. Each one is totally engrossing, so I really couldn't tell you where to start.

But my personal favorites are FF2 and 5 if you would like to know :-)

the story line differs between each game. but they are the greatest RPG's and the storyline are very good and manage to get you hooked. making you keep playing to find out more behind the adventure. think of this as an addiction

I payed all of them different than for FF13. and that i enjoyed 9 the main. exchange into the main relaxing. If love the tooni way this sport exchange into designed. It takes a on an identical time as to get into (as with any the FF) yet for my area i could say decide for it. particularly some stuff to do. and slightly comical. It has a romantic vibe yet no longer as much as a number of the others. i could say it fairly is worth it. From all of those I even have performed it somewhat is the only one that i prefer to play over and over...... purely prefer I had the time. My own favorites are FF8 & FF9 btw
