What's the minimum time (physically speaking) after it that you can go back to work? Do some mothers manage the pain so they can get back as quickly as possible?

It is a non-elective one, it's not just being done for convenience.

And there are bills that need to be paid and loans that need to be paid or else I would stay at home. So it's not really a case of choosing to work over being home with baby. It's choosing work so there's a home for baby.

Normally doctors do not like a woman to go back to work for about 8 weeks after a c-section because the muscles that were cut need time to heal. The rate of an infection is actually higher when you have a c-section than that of a natural, this is due to the fact that you not only have external stitches but internal ones as well.

The time to really heal is eight weeks and the average minimum is 6 weeks. Some people bodies heal quicker than that. The quickest way to recovery is u doing as little as possible around the house try to minimize everything you do if you try to go at it to fast then you might hurt your self and be at home longer than anticipated. But i have also seen it work the opposite way some people are up and about after 3 weeks and the more they do the better they feel so i guess it just depends on your body and how fast you are healing and what feels comfortable to do for you. If your job doesnt require a lot of moving and reaching you maybe able to go back as quick as a month especially if its a job you where you sit all day

I heald very quickly and had no complicatins so I went back in two weeks. I, just like you, had a lot of medical bills that insurance did not pay for, a mortgage that needed to be paid, car loans, etc. so I had to go back to work. I cannot believe that somebody would post a comment implicating you are a bad mother because instead of staying home with your baby you HAVE to go back to work. You know not everyone has the perfect life where they can stay home with their kids. Some woman are single mothers and some husbands do not make enough money, or in my situation my husband makes good money and we could live off of just his income, but we also would not have all of the things we want and my kids would not have all of the things they want. Yeah, you should stay home and let your gas and electricity get shut off, lose your house, lose your car, have no money for diapers and formula, and get your butt sent to collections because of unpaid bills so that you can stay home with your baby and be a GOOD mother. Some people have no idea what it's like to actually have to work to provide for a family. Try to not to push yourself too much. I did everything they told me to do in the hospital (got up and started walking that day) and by the time I got home I was feeling great. Good luck.

well at least 6 weeks to give yourself time to heal and after you go to ur dr depending on what kind of work you do they will let you know when is a safe time to return, but if you are in a hurry to get back to work then ask about it when you go to the 2wk check up when they look at your incision. Just talk to your dr and ya'll can discuss a good plan for you since every woman is different.

I would think that as soon as you are able to lift some sort of weight comfortably and you aren't in real pain you would be ok to go back to work. It really depends on the type of work you do. The docs told me 6 weeks. Good luck!

I would wait at least 6 weeks, you don't want to tear, if you have to go back to work i would just be very careful and wear comfortable pants. i feel sooooo bad for you, that is such horrible pain. Best wishes!!!

don't you want to be with your baby????
Unless you chose to give your baby up for adoption, think about being home with your new baby.
