I'm doing my MBA regular from Punjabi University Patiala, here in north India, im right now in my 2nd semester but my summer training is comming near and i've to decide about my specialisation subject for my 2nd year in MBA.
I'm very confused regarding choice. Being commerce graduate i've the choice for FINANCE and also i like HR, but i dont want to do marketing. So right now im very much confused regarding making the choice between FINANCE and HR.
Can anyone plz guide me pros anc cons for both these subjects. I'm unable to make up my mind regarding which one of them, i'll choose as my specialised subject in my 2nd year.

Why not arrange a few meetings with people who actually work in both of those areas for local businesses? Ask them about their jobs: what they like and what they find frustrating. Ask them if they'd do the same thing if they could start over. Ask them how the job has changed over the years and what they see as the challenges and concerns for the future.
I bet if you spoke with three or four people from each of your two options, you would easily come to a decision. The side benefit is that you will have begun to network with the professionals who may eventually hire you or who could provide advice as you enter the working world after finishing your degree.

I like human resources because you are able to help people while working in the world of business, relating to their troubles at work, and helping them meet their needs at work revolving around life.
I also like Finance because it would prepare you for a variety of other positions better than HR.
I think Finance is more working with the numbers than with the employees (HR)...and marketing then being the product.
