My husband's turning 28 years old and I need help with ideas for his birthday. He really enjoys photography, the outdoors, electronics, video / computer games, and movies. He's hard to buy for because he has all the latest gadgets. He said he would like a quiet birthday this year, with only a couple of close friends to celebrate.
He's taking his actual birthday off, so I was thinking of taking him out and doing something really neat. Any ideas folks?
Keep in mind that I'm a student so I don't have too much money to put into an expensive gift. I'd much rather do something original that he'd love.

Take him somewhere that he can take some really nice pictures.
Or, you could offer to pose for some really nice pictures.

You say that your hubby likes photography, and also has all the latest gadgets, why not make a photo of yourself for him? A simple black and white photo of you in sexy lingerie, or even a very nice dress. I am sure that what ever you give him he will be happy with it.
Since you are a college student perhaps you could take him to McDonald's for a romantic dinner. You could go before hand and get a McDonald's bag and put a vase with a flower in it, a candle and a card. You could leave it there so that when you order they will put it on the tray with the rest of your food. Then when the time is right you can pull out the candle, the vase and the card and wish your hubby happy birthday. Its simple, its romantic, and it will totally catch him off guard.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

Take him camping. Men love camping, as do some women. Find a park with awesome scenery..get one of his cameras, invite the guys and their gals and make it a memorable b-day.Use your imagination when you get there for any other surprises you may want to add. Don't tell him where you're going, get everyone in on it but him, and blindfold him for the trip. Tell him to trust you. Don't forget the beer. ;-) A campground spot doesn't cost more than 30 bucks so your saving as well, and having fun.

Well it depends on how outgiong you are willing to be but here is one possibility.
Locate a secluded beautiful spot in a park or national forest or beach and allow him to take pictures of you in provacitive poses, possibly even fully nude. then see what that leads to.
