HCF(x, y) . LCM(x, y) = x.y
So the LCM is 875/5 = 175.

The first guy has it right. If you find that hard to believe. Here is a numerical example.
875 = 25*35

HCF of 25 and 35 is 5

LCM of 25 and 35 = 175

Same applies for 5 and 175. HCF is 5 and LCM is 175. In this pair of factors (5 and 175), the HCF and LCM is more obvious.

We can write these numbers as 5 times some other numbers which are relatively prime (share no factors), since 5 is the greatest common factor.
A = 5a, B = 5b, where a & b are relatively prime
So, 875 = AB = 5*5*ab
We want the LCM, which is the smallest number into which both A & B will go, that is, into which 5a and 5b will go.
Since a&b are relatively prime, the smallest is 5ab = 875/5 = 175
