I think, to me, it is the most interesting subject. Please, take 2 minutes out and tell me what you think lies past our universe.

Are we just some structure, in a even larger structure? ( Are we a cell in some enormous, object? )

Entertain me, and tell me what you think we are here for. Why we even exist or what we are a part of.

Infinity.
(Although your suggestion about us being a cell in some enormous object used to be my idea too!).
But, I believe what the Bible says now, and that we are here at the pleasure of God!
(That's all I'll say here!)

Ahh, alpha, who's to say? The beauty of science is that it holds up to the most rigorous of scrutinity, but it only applies when verifiable, repeatable observations can confirm theories. You are asking what lies beyond what we can possibly see, and that is open to anyone's interpretation. We are most likely not a cell, but it is entirely possible that our universe is simply one in a "multiverse", where an infinite number of universes co-exists across dimensions we cannot fathom. Some may be a billion times smaller than a proton, and other a billion times larger than our own. The may exist a billionth of a centimeter away from our own universe, offset in some intangible dimension and so remain so close yet forever beyond our comprehension.

We are here because we are. There is no higher purpose than what we make of it, if even it's only to dream of what is and what may be.

So your pretty much asking for the meaning of life right?

Which in this case relates to science...

Actually the theory that is grasping the world right now is that the universe is outside our galaxy, but it's OK I get those mixed up all the time.

If you indeed wonder what is outside our universe many people believe that other universes lie as membranes and fluctuate as waves. From there it can be tied to the big bang theory, whenever two waves of the membrane hit this caused all the matter in the universe to dissipate.

I hope this wasn't a too nerdy answer.

The universe is a closed unit, nothing exists beyond it's limits.
It is a finite entity that at one time did not exist and eventually will go out of existence.
Sometime in the past the universe developed the capacity to become aware of itself,we are the result.
We are the eyes and ears of the universe.
No doubt the universe is populated by many like us to allow remote areas to be not isolated from it's consciousness.
The universe developed from a finite potential a very short time after time zero.
When it goes out of existence it will enter a state of eternal nothing.
An incident that occurred once and will never occur again.

when people say there will never be a big bang i think that if the odds that it would happen with in 100 light years are infinite to one we still have a good chance of there being life out there as there is there is infinite amount of space.
