Let's face it, America is the only country to have actually used them. Should we really not be going after America..and ourselves for that matter?

I agree. How can the US say that they are looking to develop the next generation of nuclear weapons while waging war on other countries just because they are suspected of having them. Hypocrites. As for the UK government. They should not have gone to war against the wishes of the majority of the UK population. We are supposed to be a democratic society. Blair acted as a dictator. He should have been "overthrown" too!

America, the UK, Russia and countries like Pakistan, India and China (also nuclear powers), all show respect for international law, whereas Iran does not.

Iran are well down the road of being economically destroyed, and if and when they are, they will no doubt complain about the "evil forces of the infidel aggressors" rather than their own stupidity.

Another once proud and great country is yet again in the grip of an Islamist set of lunatics, who try to run things like a banana republic.

Iran is a society that embraces death unnaturally. They would use a nuke just for the hell of it, when in fact the US, the UK, and the others that embrace life, would only use them to ensure the safety of many other lives and/or stop the those who wrongfully take life from others.
Iran scares me and they cannot be trusted. I hate when people say "lets just nuke Iraq [and/or] Afghanistan", because that would obviously defeat the point of going to war in the first place. In the case with Iran, I think we need to do something, and taking them out with nuclear weapons is not something I wouldn't do.

This question gets asked quite often, and I usually resist the temptation to answer, because you know you are on to a loser from the start. The answer is, that the USA and the UK have proved that they are sensible democracies, and have exercised restraint over many years, whereas, the countries you refer to are run by unstable governments with a rather perverse and callous disregard for the rights of individuals, and an utterly unfathomable philosophy of life. Basically, you would be mad to trust them. If they don't care about their own lives, they certainly aren't going to care about the lives of others.

The atomic bomb was developed in the USA and it should never have been allowed to be developed anywhere else.

US and UK are powerful enough to justify their nuclear weapon, somthimes saying that they have signed the treaty and sometimes that they use is only for stopping war.......now if just looking at this statement..US is the only country which has used these nuckes on two cities and have destroyed their generations even ! and even now they are invading two countries illegaly............And in that regards US is the most dangerous country to have it than anyone else ! Iran and north Korea are not at war with any country......well if Iran say in reponse to US threats of attacks that they won't sit calm when US would attack them and they would respond , this is made an excuse that "they are threat to the world" ..........this is hypocricy but you know "Might is right" and this time US is holding the superpower title and thats why they are 'just" in having it and north Korea and Iran is not !!they have power to legalize their acts !!

The fact is that this is a vicious cycle and its not "Okay" for any country to have the nukes.........This is a grave danger to the humanity ! But this should be applied for all the countries.......All the 8 atomic powers plus iran !! and not for Iran only !!

I'm not for nukes at all really....I don't think anyone should have them or wars for that matter. But You need to read the history books....It is so that USA and UK are ones that have contribute the most towards trying to maintain global peace amongst the ones that aren't at peace.....still.

To Copper, let's not also forget Australia being dragged into the War because Howard is Bush's little buddy. Our senate had a vote of no confidence against Howard and yet there he is, king of the castle still. Makes me ill.

Anyway, back on topic....because, basically, the US considers themselves superior and more trustworthy than the rest of the world. It is all a matter of perception and which side of the fence you are sitting on. Its kinda like violating human rights...it is ok when the US does it, a big crap storm if anyone else does. Two wrongs, no right.

Let's allow any crackpot or nation to have nukes. Then we will quickly find out why we wanted to disallow them from having them. Natural enemies, counter cultures, dictatorships are other reasons why their should be a lack of nuclear proliferation. For the sake of the stability of the civilized world is another.
