Buy it if you are that desperate but better still earn it if you can by doing good and helping society. Why do you need it? Whats the point-does it make you a better person?

okay here are some solution:
the good way:
- being active in politics, build reputations (good or bad) doesnt matter.
- donate money and make sure newspaper/tv reporter swarms around u clicking away, make sure u make the headlines the next day
- Build schools, prayer houses/temples, build free library.
- Get famous and aim for tatler magazines. Make sure your face covers most pages. Get noticed.

Other weird way: By getting famous:
1. Build your career in Hollywood like michelle yeoh.
2. Be a songstress and sing like siti nurhaliza at royal albert hall. But u gotta sing elsewhere better and no need to bring your own supporters to fill up the singing hall.
3. Sail around the world sponsored like azhar mansor. Not sure which point he covers in all but hey they respect his wishes.
4. I am not sure what happen to the everest climber. I dont think he gets his datukship for being the first malaysian climber to reach the summit. Why ehh...Ah we all know why dont we.. poor fellow..Since he didnt get the title, u stand a chance in this manner..
5. try to climb coconut tree faster than any monkey perhaps that will help, besides, monkeying around is what the datuks are good for..Good training mahh..
6. Basically be the first malaysian to do something. Like swim from malaysia to japan unaided back and forth four times or something to that effect..
7. U cant climb KLCC, u dont want to end up like the french spiderman, but then again being a malaysian maybe they will allow u, remember, get the sponsorship first and get media coverage. And dont wear anything revealing while u climb, dont want the public to criticise u. Best is wear the black abaya and climb.

Wahh.. so many i contributed here.. let others contribute as well..

oh cmon, the answer is so obvious, and everyone has the same opinion here.

but do u know the pros n cons of datukship? let me...cough cough...it up.
pros: whatever issues that u need govt to help out, is much smoother n faster. eg
1.obtaining company license, the bid to do this, do that.
2.get special discount over confiscated smuggled BMW cars.
3.escape summons, lawsuits, bankruptcies.
4.get to know among rich circle of friends

cons:
1. if the royalbloodlines want to spend on something like buying rm5 million watch/visit some exotic place, u have to provide the spending, accomodations, service. of course, the cost is shared by all datuks, not u alone. and there are many royal bloodlines too.

2. u have to feed other govt seniors that smoothen your license approval.

there are lots more pros n cons. u need a real datuk to list out for u.

EDIT: britney is a datin. i wonder how she gain her datinship. climb banana trees? hehe

i don't think you can buy datukship or any of the merits for that matter. but i do agree that to be conferred one you need a lot of money. this is so because you need to contribute to the nation. i.e. do some extraordinary stuff like build or do the 'est' of things... build the tall'est' building, climb the high'est' peak, swim / sail the rough'est' sea, sponsor the bigg'est' event...blah..blah...blah...

So to do all these stuff you need a LOT of money... and when you have a LOT of money, you'll get noticed by the conferring commitees and these elleviate your chances to be getting the datukship...

So good luck in your venture...
