Try Hand-e-Balm. It worked for me when I was a competitive gymnast. I still use it now for cheerleading actually. You put it on whenever you need it.
At night, put loads on, then cover with a pair of old gloves and the rips will be healed in the morning!

P.S I have no idea abot chapstick!

I think that chapstick works pretty well, and I know this may sound weird but so does preperation H. The thing I think that works the best is taking a teabag (that has just been in hot water, but does not have to be burn your hand off hot) and put it on the rip for about 10 minutes right before you go to bed and then after you are donte put chapstick on it!

Ive been in gymnastics for five years now and am a level 10.
Ive found the best thing to do is to take anti bactireal spray and spray it right in the rip. It may hurt but it will really help. Do it 1-3 times daily. If that does'nt help continue the treatment, but ask your coach if you can stay off of bars for a week.
Hope this helps.
