It's just that the only time I spend time with people is in like big party situations, lots of people around (no close friends, so no casual stuff i guess).

The words "hanging out" usually imply spending time with a person or a group of people in a casual, laid back situation where the people can feel free to be themselves and have fun. For example: going to the movies, having people over at your house to listen to music and catch up, going bowling, going to the mall..these are all construed as "hanging out".

It depends. Are you trying to find out if a guy likes you? If a guy asks you to hang out that could mean a number of things. He may think you are cool and wants to spend time with you as a friend or he may want to hang out with you because he likes you more than a friend. Either way the person enjoys your company, so that is a good thing, that is if you like him

Spending time together in a non-school/work setting (usually). It's a more casual way of saying getting together because it's low-key/low pressure.

well,hanging-out can be done with anybody.but it is more of fun when you do it with your friends.that's the best way to make life more lively.it can include doing anything from talking and playing to doing naughty things.as far as i know going to those huge parties is not hanging out at all.
