There are a few people that you can tell are lying. If their lips are moving and sound coming out. Pretty safe bet they are lying.

There are others that are pretty adept at lying. Sounds good enough to be the truth, too, but all lies. I can't always pick these people out right off.

Then there are those who start talking BS that has a label on it as soon as they start talking. They think that if they talk louder, it is more likely to be believed.

So who's left? Those who tell it like it is, painful tho it might be, but it is the truth. These are the ones I associate with.

Most of the time unless they are good at lying. ( I catch on though) I have a very good memory for detail most of the time. And I will bring it to some one's attention and the shame of the fib generally puts them in their place and either teaches them not to lie to me (or at all) or in some cases where the person has no problem lying, they try to lie to get out of the first lie. But by then you already know whether this person can be trusted by his word by past experience with them. Be cautious from now on.

Of course there are the tell tale signs of liers. Not looking one in the eye. Nevous fidgeting, wild hand gestures with shifty eyes. Some one who talks very quickly and in circles to confuse some one. Shifting from one foot to the other repeatedly. Possibly shaky voice. These are only some of the signs. Just pay attention to body language, 80% of any language.

Yes! As far as I know anyways. Especially when it's a lame excuse for something. Such as: sorry I forgot to call you back about going to the park with the kids... I just remembered that I had to grocery shopping after work". I'd MUCH rather you just say that you needed to go grocery shopping... can we try again for tomorrow?, instead of saying you forgot. I hate excuses and they're always east to pick out. Whenever I'd call someone to see if they could work for me, (when I worked at the tanning salon) I'd just say, "I don't feel like working tomorrow... do you want some extra hours?"... the "I'm sick" thing just doesn't work with me.

Not consistently, no. Some liars are easy to spot, while others are extremely convincing as a result of frequent practice.

Well some people are just horrible liars and you can always tell. Others are experts and you can never tell until it's too late...
