If your toy was not opened during the washing sequence there might still be hope 4 it :)

Supposing u let it dry, the device is not on hold and u charged it after it got dry ...
Press menu and the middle of the wheel in the same time for like 10 seconds ... That's the "shortcut" for reboot ...

If your screen opens CONGRATULATIONS ... if not ... bye-bye i-pod ;)

Man, that's rough. They make electronics so small these days. I think they are gonna know it is due to water damage.

I will tell you something that MIGHT give you a bit of hope. I once spilled a strawberry milkshake on a apple laptop. It would not work after that. I let it dry for 2 weeks, and just as I was about to order a new one, i opened it, and it clicked on. It's been working for 5 years ever since.

Give it some time to dry out. Help it along with a hair dryer.

Oh that sucks. I have an I-pod to and am trying to think about a warentee on it but i dont think they offer one, and even if they did most warentees run out after the first three months.

Why dont you read over the paper work that came with it. I hope you didnt throw this away.

I hope you can get a new one, but I dont think you will able to.

Good Luck!

The first question is if you have a warranty on it and what their replacement or service contract requires. I imagine that they are going to want to fix it first. If that is the case they will probably take it apart and realize that there is water damage, which is not covered by most warranties, manufacture or otherwise. If it's a straight replacement, then make up a story. Good luck.

I have a lot of experience on this with Apple. They will try to tell you you either dropped it or washed it. Tell them you didn't and INSIST on it!! Tell them it stopped working after you tried to update it with your itunes. Since you can't remove the battery it's almost certainly fried. I've heard that baking it in the oven (no joke) might help getting those wet electronics working again. But definitely insist that you didn't drop or wet it. You can say it just stopped working or it stopped after the update. and despite of everyone saying they can tell, they can't!! they insist that they can tell and get you to believe they could and then people crack. interrogation. good luck!!

Its gone man! You should have dried it using a dryer or left if for some days...as this version does not have a hard disk..you had a chance of recovery....you could try opening it and drying it....but no chance now :(

Wait a couple of days for it to completely dry out, then plug it in and try to turn it on. If it still doesn't turn on...it's gone.

happened with me and my ishuffle >.<.... what i found out is that electricians can tell if something broke by water damage which is irreparable if it was done over a week ago, and theyll know that it was your fault and it was water damage.
