My son is 17-1/2 years old and I have NO idea what to put in his Easter basket this year. I don't want to spend more than $20 or so. (I've already gotten a $20 Walmart gift card and a $20 McDonalds gift card.) Now, I just need some little inexpensive things to put in his basket.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Go traditional, like he was a little boy again. Get him a chocolate easter bunny, jelly beans, you name it . Sugar!

I think you should have kind of a throw-back to his old Easter baskets when he was little. Chocolate bunny, plastic Easter eggs with jelly beans, and anything else he liked when he was little.

When I was a senior in high school, my English class had an Easter egg hunt, and it was hilarious to see these big brawny football guys with their Easter baskets (the biggest guy in the class actually brought the lace-lined one his mom made him when he was a toddler). It's kind of a guilty pleasure at that age, to enjoy the traditions from when you were little.

Other than that, you could put things like favorite snack foods (my husband and I make up Easter baskets for each other, as well as our kids, and he always has the little cans of Pringles chips and that kind of thing.

My son is 34 and in his last Easter basket I put some gift cards in and then because he is a mechanic I found a doll house tool box and some little tools. to add to the basket with some jelly beans.

He actually liked the doll house mechanic things. Some doll house items are really inexpensive and they are just plan cute.

What do teenagers like? You could put in some "mature" candy, like Snickers bars or even Snickers eggs. Include a colored egg or two. You might include some gum or mints, boxes of raisins, mixed nuts, and even some small toiletries like after shave. You might also include a minibook about a subject he likes, or an inexpensive DVD from a dollar store or drugstore.

Happy Easter! He is risen!
