it takes a 35 series battery. basically a small battery like a 51 might work also. best way to know is to call your local parts store like O'Reilly Auto Parts store.

The lanos uses a very unusual battery. The size (length 6.6in. X width 7.0 in. X height of 5.8 in. with top bolt on terminals) is not being made by any aftermarket manufacturer. These dimensions don't even come close to any bci group numbers. The only replacement available is sitting on the shelf at the daewoo dealer's parts department.

You can listen to all the specs and see if you can make sense of it, but for dummies like me it's all in the cca rating. And, you can't have enough cold cranking amps.
Car like yours can take a 650cca or a 750cca battery, but if you're tired of the nonsense and it will fit, get an 850 - 1000 cca battery for 80 dollars and you have no more juice related problems for a long time (5+ years they last me, despite burning headlights overnight accidentally at times).
Either way it costs 50+, get a low cca battery and 2-3 maybe 4 years from now you spend another 50-60 plus the time and possible hassle and frustration. Spend the 80 and you're done for 5 years, less jump starts and other embarrassing battery related trouble helps as well.
The initial cost hurts, but it beats fooling with this crap and pays for itself in time, the extra power is like having a huge reserve voltage pool of anti-trouble insurance and then some. They usually last well beyond the 3 year warranty, probably because they can take a licking and keep on ticking.
As for what brand, with enough power it doesn't matter.
