is the simpsons now NOT evil? What about adult swim? what about family? how many other cartoon type shows are antichristian?
Has american society become so bad, that which was once tabboo is now accepted? Or has people actually changed the way they are moved by the spirit? Did people actually have the spirit of God in the first place.

The Simpsons were never anti-Christian. The writers simply told the truth about society. Not everyone is a Christian and everyone is entitled to have one's own beliefs and deity of choice. Maybe the writers simply wanted to convey the message that it's OK to be open-minded and we should not all be pigeon-holed into believing whatever we're told to believe.

Read The Gospel According to the Simpsons by Mark L. Pinsky and The Simpsons and Philosophy Irwin, Conrad, and Skobie those should clear it up real nice the simpsons is really just a social commentary they provide a comical view of current and historic events although the events are usually a year or 2 behind due to the show being drawn by hand whereas south park can churn an episode out within a week or 2 of an event becoming absurd enough to parody but yeah those 2 books r great and include specific show references to illustrate their points

First of all, The Simpsons is one of the few programs that show the family saying grace, attending church and praying on a regular basis. So I'm not sure where you get the whole "anti-Christian" thing from. As a matter of fact, "World Magazine"... a Christian publication recently hailed The Simpsons as having strong family values.

As far as other shows having "anti-Christian" values, I can't think of too many, and I watch Adult Swim on a nightly basis. I know that "Family Guy" also pokes fun at organized religion and the church in general, but I don't see this as being anti-Christian inasmuch as I see it as a comedy program making pot-shots at organized religion and hypocracy in the church. If you are angry over that, you shouldn't blame television, you should blame a lot of so-called "Christians" who have really turned the idea of Christianity into a haven for hate-mongers and fundamentalists.

People did... and still do have the "spirit of God" as you say, but sadly I think many non-Christians see Christianity as something less than what it should be. When the two biggest names in televangelism... I'm speaking of Pat Robinson and Jerry Falwell respectively... cannot seem to go five minutes without throwing rocks at either homosexuals or pregnant teenagers, it makes Christianity look very bad.

Oh... and you should stop looking for television to support your Christian values. If you don't like what you're watching, the remote has two buttons. One turns the channel, the other just turns the darned thing off!
