Having a single sylable second name goes well with a two sylable name.

As long as you don't have a surname like Smith, Brown or Jones because it really takes the edge off having a flashy name. My children purposely have dateless good old fashioned English names. My name is Georgina but when I was at school I felt different because most girls were Mandy, Karen, Tracey, Donna, Lyn, Sharon ....it's really a trend thing. I actually have always liked the name Tracey.

David for a boy and Sarah for a girl. They may not be unusual names now but given all the names I have heard for kids recently I would say that they could be the only David or Sarah at their school.

Destiny Desertrai?? You've got to be kidding me!!! (to the girl above). That's as bad as Shanda Leir.

My favorite unusual name is Leila or Laila. It's Persian and simply beautiful, but unique.

P.S. Saber Li, do you know what a calamity is? I think your post must be a joke ;)
