Gravity around a mass will be about the same, at any equal distance from that mass, and taking all points of any single distance from a point will form a sphere.

Planets (and pretty much everything else like stars as well) are round because gravity collapsed them that way. Pretend you tried to make the earth a cube, the corners of the cube would become so heavy they would collapse under their own weight and make the earth back into a sphere. That's why mountains can't be higher then Mt. Everest, or else they would collapse under their own weight.

The rotation of the planet has made it's shape round. Even gravity has some effect on its shape.

A ball is the perfect shape. Any rotating mass will seek to find equilibrium and the "round" shape ensures equal pressure on all sides.

Well, it's like this:
One day the Sun decided to bake some cookies.
She baked a bunch of them, but the only big ones are the ones we see in our galaxy.
When she put them in the oven, something went wrong.
Instead of flat cookies, they were round cookies..!
So that's exactly why planets are round, that, and gravity :-)

Planets are smiliar to the colour balls pool table. The white ball is the big bang, supernova and whatsoever we wanna to call. Colour balls are triangulated and holding together and here comes a super white balls and crashed into the path....A big bang. The space and time are the area of the pool table. The pocket holes are the unknown blackhole. Agree?
