They are listed in the newspaper classified just like all the other jobs. If you have never been an apartment manager you should research it well and decide if it a job you really want. I would never want to do it again. It is 24/7 job. I had never seen so many helpless whiners in my life. I guess I assumed since I was not a helpless loser that others were not either.
Imagine...
-10pm a tenant called to say there were spiders in their apartment (I told her to kill it. Isn't that what normal people do?)
- another tenant waited until 7pm to tell me the front door lock was no longer locking and had been that way for 2 days (Since now I knew about the lock the property management company would be liable if anything happened because the door would not lock so I had to get it fixed that night.)
- one lady called to yell at me because I was not home on a Saturday afternoon when there was a stray dog on the property that she captured and wanted to drop off to me (I asked her why she would think I would take the dog. I asked her what she did since I was not home and she said she called Animal Control. I told her I would not have taken the dog even if I was home. Duh...)
- one tenant complained that there was a cat that was using the kids outside sand area as a cat box (I am not sure what one is supposed to do about stray animals coming onto a property and using the yard or such as a toilet)
- another tenant called me a horrible manager because I did not know that at 2am some random skateboarders came through the complex and woke her up (Hello, I was asleep. Even if I was up and ran outside don't you think they would be gone already?)

The list could go on and on. People think nothing of bothering you anytime of the day or night for all kinds of crap that could certainly wait until a decent day and hour. They cannot even change a stupid light bulb on their own.

I went by the same issue with sub metered electric powered in a California trailer courtroom as a manager. If the application is sub metered, the fee for the product is an same as if it were direct besides the indisputable fact that the sources that receives the majority billing receives a nominal lower price for protecting its strains and meters. they ought to State certify their meters. the sources administration ought to verify the guy meters and then calculate the baseline utilization plus 4 extra degrees, each and each with an upward sliding cost. maximum dwellings get into the second one tier. they ought to state what number days are interior the era plus commence and end readings on your bill. interior the case of your gas, i believe that's an same and that purely one out of ten persons is conscious what the perfect analysis allowance and price is and what the speed and volume (CF) is for each next tier. This incorporates your impolite manager or maybe the owner of the sources. I propose you go on your application's internet web site and procure the speed agenda that applies to you and then examine your individual meter. in the adventure that they are overcharging you, the sources's administration could grant you with a reimbursement. in the adventure that they are dishonest the tenants, your public utilities fee, district legal specialist customer fraud branch and a small claims courtroom may have an interest.

Have you tried calling the vaccancy rentals companies? Also try calling the for rent signs here and there, and talk to the landlords for a break in your rent in exchange for manager duties.
