The local paper there is The Morning Call. You should be able to find out a lot just from reading the paper. Also, there are a lot of colleges and universities in that area--Lehigh University, Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Muhlenberg College, Moravian College--check their websites to see what they say about the area.
