I mean, you hear all the time that its crap, but for me its a starting point. I plan to get it but continue on for a Bachelors. Just taking baby steps. But is it really crap?

Heck yeah its worth something. It gets you headed into the right direction. But people don't usually stick with their first major, so just take all the basic that you know will transfer to other schools. Because it would Be a heart-breaker to know you did all that work for it to just help you out at the school your currently at. So in the end an associates is not crap, its your building block to your future in education. Well good look in all your endeavors.

No education is crap. An associate's degree is much like the first two years of a bachelor's, so how can being halfway there be useless crap? I know I learned much more during my first two years of college than I did on my master's program, which mainly just reinforced "stuff" I already knew after being in the workforce for 25 years.

Yes, it is still worth something.

It is really worth to have associate degree rather than just finishing high school or 2 or 3 years in college. At least it's a degree which is self-contained. You can continue it to bachelor's degree later.
