Auto parts stores sell reducers to change the size of exhaust pipes, they come in a variety of sizes.

So what your saying is that the Muffler inlet is too big for the existing piping on your car????

If thats the case then go down to an exhaust shop and they will fit an adapter pipe that will go from your cars exhaust size to the size of the inlet on your new muffler.

As well as that you will have to make up new brackets to support the new muffler so take it to the exhaust shop anyway.

There are sleeve adapters available but the connection needs to be leak proof to prevent carbon monoxide risks. If you have a welder you can do this but the best alternative is to take your muffler to a shop and have them do the whole thing for you. Less time and reasonable cost will enable you and your loved one's safety from deadly fumes. Good luck.
