Hi. I wondered what the lever type thing is that a musician uses while he's playing his guitar? What does it do? (It's located on the front of the guitar, near strings). Thanks! :)

Well, the above answers are kind of right...

The tremolo arm (or whammy bar) is attached to the bridge. By pushing the arm down it loosens the tension on the strings and lowers the pitch of the strings. Some bars also allow you to pull up which raises the pitch of the strings.

I would recommend that you just remove the bar for now and store it in the case until you learn how to play.

a whammy bar. it stretches all the strings at once, detunes the whole dang thing. Great tool.
