The word boob from our current use of it is street slang for a part of a woman's anatomy. However, the original use of the word was Booby which referred to (1) a stupid' person or a fool. (2) In some games it may refer to the lowest score. (3) Also, referring to a tropical sea bird known as the "Booby Gannet". A fourth possible reference would be to the television, i.e. The Boob-Tube which indicates for the most part the massive stupidity, and inane subject matter that is produced and viewed.

Doc 8 is right--it has two separate meanings--a person who is not very smart or a woman's breast.
