i'm converting a dvd movie (.vob) file to an mp4 file so i can put it on my ipod. the movie was broken into 4 parts. the only thing wrong is that part 3 of the movie has commentary on it. does anyone know how to fix this or which other .vob file might have part 3 on it. i doubt anyone would know since this is complex, but if u know please help.

You can't just convert the VOB themselves. You need all the other files (BUF, etc.) as those are the indices that point within the VOB files to access the various audio and video tracks. If you just convert a VOB by itself, you never know what'll come out since you don't know the actual order of the stuff inside the VOB.

The proper way to "rip" a movie to anything is first, rip the movie with the right soundtrack and/or subtitles into a SINGLE multi-GB file, then convert that file into whatever format you wish, (MP4 in your case).

Some dedicated rippers can probably rip and convert in the same step.
