What is the name of a part of building that is owned/leased by more than 1 person?

For example, there are two Leasses - each of them leases one room in a factory. And there is a corridor - for example, a kind of a common communication area.

What is the name of this corridor? Can i refere to it as a:

"common part of the building"???

If it once was a factory it is a loft. If the factory is still active, they shouldn't be renting you rooms inside it. And if it is a loft, it's just a corridor nothing more to it.
