I have the dream of becoming an actress, or singer, or something like that. I have no clue where to begin. All of my acting coaches and piers tell me that I have the skill, but where to start?

For now, try and decide between actress or singer, because you might want to focus on one or the other to get started. Can't your acting coaches connect you with someone? What kind of acting coaches are they if they don't know how to make people actors? You should shop for an agent and see if you can get any roles, even if just an extra in a commercial or a low budget movie where they only pay you on the back end. I am not an actor and only marginally in the movie business, but live in the part of LA where a plethora of aspiring actors live (Silver Lake). I can tell you that actors thrive by networking. They surround themselves with talented screenwriters, directors, and other people in the various facets of entertainment. Getting to know people in the business is essential in the movie business, so get networking. If you are not in LA or NY, you will most likely have to move there if you are serious.

I think that's a great idea. I might suggest getting involved in drama at your school. So then, from there, you can be involved in plays at your school. Musicals are good with acting and singing. If your school doesn't do musicals, ask the drama teacher or your principal to start them up. They are really fun, and enjoyable to watch!!

Join the drama club at your school. Audition for plays at the theaters, in the city where you live. Tell your parents you want to audition for plays. Your local newspaper may post audition information for the theaters in your area.
