I think with an environmental crisis happening that has one root cause being over population, stem cell research needs to take a back seat in scientific priorities for a while.

I think it's great, but it sounds expensive and I don't think it is the highest priority health topic today. I think plain old diet and exercise could cure far more grave, promient diseases, but diet and exercise are simply too uncontroversial to be newsworthy. Old news, but far too overlooked. I would hate to see how expensive health care will be someday when we have to pay for stem cell therapy to cure something that would never have happened if we stayed healthy the old fashioned way through diet and exercise. For the spinal injuries and for many diseases, though, stem cell research is a worthy cause.

I do believe in stem cell research, but research of babies is not right. There is no proof that fetal stem cells work.

I support it. Franky I feel that most people have gotten the issue fused with reproductive research. This misconception then lead to linking of the field to abortion a right to life and cloning.
Yes the field is linked to invetro feritlization(IVF). Its a fact that too many eggs and fetuses are produced during normal IVF treatments. Most of these eggs are placed in the trash and disposed of or sit in freezers till they are so old that they can no longer produce healthy children.
The issue become what to do with these eggs. I say it more ethical to use them to help human kind then to destroy by letting them sit storage.
