Global Warming/Climate Change is not as big a problem as some would have you to believe. A recent article in the New York Times has even asked Al Gore to stop all the hype:
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/13/science/13gore.html?_r=1&oref=slogin That same article talks about Al Gore's claim that the oceans could rise 20 feet is exaggerated by 18.08 FEET! The latest UN study on the subject says the seas could rise a MAXIMUM of 23 inches. Al was only 18.08 FEET off. That, my freind IS hype...
If you look up any global temperature chart on the net, you'll find the earth's temperature has only increased by about 6/10 of one degree (C) - that's 1.1 degree (F), in the last 125 years. So yes, the globe is warming up, but it's not overheating like some would have you to believe. http://data.giss.nasa.gov:80/gistemp/2005/2005cal_fig1.gif
The latest research shows that the methane from cows and pigs is a major factor in the increase of "heat trapping gas". It's actually 23 times more potent as a heat trapping gas than is carbon dioxide. http://www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/climate-change/science/other_gases According to the newest UN report on Global Warming, "Livestock are responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together." http://news.independent.co.uk:80/environment/article2062484.ece
So if Al Gore and all the alarmists really want to do something about climate change, they MUST become vegetarians and shut down cow and pig farms. I mean seriously, if they truly believe that global warming is as disastrous as they are preaching then they need to stop eating meat, period! I doubt that will happen. If not, then they are the hypocrites that some of us already suspect they are.
Also Al Gore preaches to you to conserve, but he does not practice it himself. He uses 20 times more energy in his Nashville mansion than the national average. http://www.tennesseepolicy.org/main/article.php?article_id=367
One thing he has not learned is that you MUST practice what you preach... at some point you will get caught as he has.

That depends on what happens. Man has little or no control over this. Our environmental buddy Al Gore seems to ignore the fact that warming periods have preceeded ice ages approx every 1500 yrs. As FAR BACK as a couple hundred million years ago when man was not a factor. Al gore and his enviro buddies accept no change. The only thing in global weather patterns that is constant is change. Can our puny efforts change the weather? Yes, maybe up to 10 % of it. That's about equal to 10% of the lies that Al Gore Spews. Man IS NOT Responsable for Global warming. Oh yes, climate will change. Species will become extinct. Read your science. One good volcano eruption will polute the atmosphere more than man has done in 100 yrs. Some millions of tons from a little eruption like Mt St Helens in 1980. Forest fires like the ones that swept thru the Pacific Nw in 1910 threw more Carbon into the atmosphere than all the cars ever invented. 3 million acers in 2 days in Idaho alone. Ya, go ahead, let Al Gore tell U yer car is to blame........His private jet put more polution into our atmosphere last year than my wood stove did. My wood burning stove pollutes less in a week than one diesel truck idling all night at a truckstop. Learn to see the facts. Scientific facts are a bit different than Al Gore political so called facts
Yes, We gonna have Global warming.........Not yer fault. Not mine not the dinosaurs.........Our good enviro buddy Al Gore can't change a bit of it. Perhaps all his hot air will hasten it. His science is pretty much fact. He put the cause on man. That is way far from fact. The gloal climate changes........Sahara desert was once the Sahara forest. Ice ages ran glaciers way below the 45th parallel Not once but many times. It will happen again. Al Gore may be predicting it but man and all his puny efforts is not responsable for it.
Are Al and all his enviro buddies telling us we can reverse this world climate change? They try............but those of us who see sense in climate and history see thru their lies and half truths. Your ticket on this roller coaster is bought already. Enjoy the ride. If everyone in the developed world stopped using any form of fossil fuels tomorrow, Global warming will still happen. Then the Next Ice age. Yer grandchildren might see it. Al Gore will be long dead. Dead men tell no tales. Please stop listening to lies and half truths from a proven Loser.

Who knows? There still seems to be considerable debate on the topic, and I will freely admit that both sides tend to present the facts and scientific data in such a way as that their side seems to be incontrovertable. I am a huge fan of "An Inconvenient Truth," I did buy it after all. I also think that there is nothing wrong wih the basic precepts of "what are we to do about it?" presented in the film. What is wrong with us deciding that we need to make as small an imprint on the earth as possible? It is irresponsible to say otherwise. Proponents of global warming want us to do what, stop progression of new, cleaner technologies? Stick to the old dirty ones? Their motives are just as transparent as the ones they put forward from the green side.
The video on You Tube was very informative, but it has also been debunked by scientists. We just don't know. So we should do what? Nothing?

At current rates, in 20-25 years most or all of it will be gone. At that point things get markedly worse than they already are.

BECAUSE of global warming? never. FACT: Global warming is happening, but it's only NATURAL, and NOT a THREAT. It's part of a series of trends. Why are so many people believing Al Gore, when in the seventies, he was predicting "global cooling"?? Please watch the video I put in my sources, it will explain it to you, and it will all make sense, trust me.
