I don't think Americans in general want to attack Iran. Its really the president and the military generals trying to gain support from the public that Iran's leader must be taken down.

As a retired U.S. Army Colonel who worked with nuclear weaapons and sat in on Presidental briefings, I would like to comment:
NO ONE in the U.S. WANTS to attack Iran - not the President, not the Generals, not the public. A person would be a fool to think that anyone in the leadership of the U.S. WANTS to attack ANYBODY. The President did not WANT to attack Iraq, but was forced to do so by the Saddam regime (and could, under the terms of the ceasefire ending the Persian Gulf War as approved by the United Nations).
Iran is a rogue state, intent on domination of that part of the world, along with a fanatic religious (?) idea that Iran must convert the entire non-Moslem world to Islam. Iran IS developing nuclear weapons, regardless of the speeches from Iranian leaders. Nuclear weapons are dangerous enough in the hands of rational governments, but they are unacceptable in the possession of a fanatic, ignorant, evil nation like the currrent government of Iran. With Iraq reduced to war between different sects, Iran sees the opportunity to dominate the Middle East. By the way, the Saudis are even more concerned about the nuclear intentions of Iran than the U.S. is.

Yea its just a bad idea altogether, and i don't think its the americans wanting to go to war its the people running the country. Even if we didn't go to war with iraq, war with iran is still a bad idea.
My Enemies Enemy is my best friend, ever heard that phrase....point is Iran was very friendly with Syria, Libya, and North Korea back in the day.... i don't know what there relations are now,but I don't see this event unfolding because one this might piss off North Korea, just bad diplomacy, just not a good thought.

Iran is the one trying to pick up a fight. First with Israel with threats to destroy it and now with UK by capturing 15 Royal Navy sailors in a questionable territory invasion claim. Sooner or later, one country is going to run out of patience and will push that tempting little red button.

Althought glass theme parks are nice, I would prefer not to go to war with Iran. I don't really think anybody wants to, except possibly Iran's president given his recent abduction of british sailors and marines.

Believe me, we as a country don't. Our president does. He seems like a little squirrely drunk guy with a bunch of his bigger friends at a bar - they want to fight everyone. Of course, hes not the one doing the actual fighting. Or dying. Not so long ago they were talking about a war with Syria. Now its Iran.
I do think there is going to be something happening between the UK and Iran. Which we will be drawn into, much as the UK was drawn into Iraq.

Bored.......Nothing better to do
Or the fact that radical islam is afraid of the freedom our country has and our ability to believe in the religion of choice. They on the other hand will only allow islam to be practiced in their country. Their never going to allow religious freedom in their country. They also have an agenda to spread islam through out the world. For their ideology to work they have to be strictly intolerant of any other religion. Thus our freedom is an extremely dangerous threat to radical islamists.

We don't...but after the way Iran has treated the United Kingdom I wouldn't be surprised that UK goes after them while we sit and provide support to our ally.

Because their government is: anti-American, religious bigots, supports terrorism, publicly wants to destroy another country, trying to develop nuclear weapons, and has the intent of using them. I believe it's known as self-preservation.

It's sad, but I believe that those who got us in Iraq, want to have a 'do over', and try to stick it to Iran.
The sadder fact (though some want to deny it), is that our military is in no shape to take on another country--especially one whose military hasn't been crippled by endless civil war.
But--like I said--there are those who don't listen to reason, and feel that we can do anything.
Because we are the United States.
Common sense doesn't rule this government or its supporters one iota.
