simple. Tell em you want a phone thats mostly for texting. Tell them you will pay for both the phone and the taxes and other fees.

Write a 5 paragraph essay on what the benefits of having one would be, and see what they think. Or you could just tell them that you would pay for it yourself, and that you would still obey the rest of their rules.
