You had better take a Home Pregnancy test. sounds like your pregnant.
I wanted to edit to add that if you ovulate that yes you will have a period.
Many times though a mother will ovulate without having a period prior to it.
I would think that weaning your baby would have just caused you periods to become more regular.

You shouldn't worry it's normal. I didn't have a period the whole year I breast fed my last baby. But I remember the first weeks of nursing were painful I would cramp real bad when I would breast feed the pains were worst then a labor contraction but went away the more I breast fed. My period changed allot and it's been the same way and it's been four years ago. I get a period every month but I spot lightly four about five day's hardly nothing then my regular period comes right after that for about three day's then I'm clear. My obgyn Say's it's normal and not to worry. Your body is going through a change give it time don't stress the more you worry it'll stall your period from coming.
let your hormones get into place but check with your doct. it shouldn't be any thing to worry about.
take care and good luck!

I breast fed my two girls. with the second didn't have a period for about 10 mo. But no complications with irregularity when weening her at 15 mo. Anyway, is there a possibility that you could be pregnant again? It is really easy to get pregnant while nursing. Due to the irregularity and abscence of a period. I believe I would be contacting my doctor, from the sound of it, you are either pregnant again or have a pretty bad infection.

You do ovulate when you breastfeed, you just don't necessarily have your period. So, this is how lots of people get pregnant when breastfeeding. They don't know when they are ovulating or think you can't get pregnant.
Your period should not be irregular because of weaning.
Take a pregnancy test if that is a possibility.

Some women don't ovulate while they're breastfeeding, which I believe is not your case because you mentioned you had your period after she was born. I think you should consider taking a pregnancy test. Obviously your hormones can be readjusting, but you may want to make sure

Well, have you taken a pregnancy test? Cause it sounds like you might be.... Or you could just be late. If you take a test and its negative then I would just wait and see what happens. If you miss next months period as well then I would call the Dr just to see if he has any ideas.
