-Hun, it's definitely a man thing. But you also have to consider it's probably the only way he knows how to cook for himself. He could starve without it! (LOL)

It harks back to life on the plains, oh heck, maybe even his Boy Scout days! All that fresh meat brought home from the "kill" and all that cro-magnon stuff.

Trust me, it's a man thing.

An argument cannot be held with only one party involved...so obviously the woman wants this BBQ as much as the man does and is parttaking in this argument...definitely making it not just a man thing. When couples split, they argue over everything. It's normal. I'm not sure how the "white trash" part of your question fits into play here.

It's a man thing. The bbq is pretty much all that men know how to cook on, and besides. the only reason he dosen't want the stove is because the bbq makes steaks, burgers, etc. taste so damn good!

It's both a White Trash and a man thing. He gets the BBQ but she gets the tongs and pork.

Guys usually do the BBQ stuff in the household, so it's a "man thing".

It seems petty, but the underlying reason is this man is very upset and angry. When I got a divorce I just wanted rid of a verbally and emotionally abusive man and, within reason, told him to take whatever to get the divorce over with. My friend's ex wife came over and said "I 'm taking this, and this, and this,, etc.." and taking movies and stuff she didn't even like but were his because she was hurt and angry that he wanted rid of her.
