One thing to remember that might clear up a little bit of your confusion.
While the tournament selection committee tries to keep teams close to home when possible, teams, regardless of where they are located can be sent to any of the 4 regions. So a team from Pennsylvania will not automatically go to the East region, a team from Texas will not automatically go to the South region. In fact many of the teams sent to the West Region were teams located in the Eastern time zone.
The reason for this is that the committee wants balance across the 4 regions. Let's say 6 of the top 10 teams in the country are located in the East. It makes for a better tournament to spread them out across the 4 regions to achieve more balance than to have one super tough region and 3 other much easier ones.
So when you see 'West Region' just remember that it means that the regional semifinals and regional final will be played somewhere out west. This year it was San Jose, CA. But the teams participating could be from anywhere in the country.
By my count 30 states plus the District of Columbia were represented in this years tournament. They are:
Texas - 5 teams (Texas, North Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Texas A&M Corpus Christi)
California - 4 teams (UCLA, USC, Long Beach State, Stanford)
Indiana - 4 teams (Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Butler)
Ohio - 4 teams (Ohio State, Miami of Ohio, Wright State, Xavier)
Tennessee - 4 teams (Tennessee, Memphis, Vanderbilt, Belmont)
Virginia - 4 teams (Virginia, Virginia Tech, Va. Commonwealth, Old Dominion)
Kentucky - 3 teams (Kentucky, Louisville, Eastern Kentucky)
North Carolina - 3 teams (North Carolina, Duke, Davidson)
Pennsylvania - 3 teams (Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Villanova)
Dist. of Columbia - 2 teams (Georgetown, George Washington)
Florida - 2 teams (Florida, Florida A&M)
Illinois - 2 teams (Illinois, Southern Illinois)
Massachusetts - 2 teams (Boston College, Holy Cross)
Nevada - 2 teams (Nevada, UNLV)
New York - 2 teams (Niagara, Albany)
Utah - 2 teams (Brigham Young, Weber State)
Washington - 2 teams (Washington State, Gonzaga)
Wisconsin - 2 teams (Wisconsin, Marquette)
Arizona - 1 team (Arizona)
Arkansas - 1 team (Arkansas)
Connecticut - 1 team (Central Connecticut State)
Georgia - 1 team (Georgia Tech)
Kansas - 1 team (Kansas)
Maryland - 1 team (Maryland)
Michigan - 1 team (Michigan State)
Mississippi - 1 team (Jackson State)
Nebraska - 1 team (Creighton)
New Mexico - 1 team (New Mexico State)
Oklahoma - 1 team (Oral Roberts)
Oregon - 1 team (Oregon)
South Carolina - 1 team (Winthrop)
If you want the won-loss record of each team there are a lot of places you can look. Here is one of them.

Some sites give the won-loss record prior to the tournament. This one gives the current won-loss record. It's divided by region, but go to the region of your choice and click on the team and you will get their final won-loss record. Just remember the teams in the final 4 (Florida, UCLA, Ohio State, Georgetown) obviously haven't completed their seasons, so their records will change.
Hope this helps!
