They are so paranoid and think every man who tries to talk to them wants to rape them. Then they complain that there are no nice guys but there are the women just think they want to rape them.

I worked in a department store. I sat next to a 35 year old woman I didn't know in the break room to eat lunch. I said "Hi. How are you?" And that's abotu all because she didn't seem like she wanted to talk to anyone. I was just being friendly.

Then 2 days later the boss says there is a sexual harassment complaint against me for that.

Anytime a woman comes into the break room when it is full and there are no more chairs I give her my chair. 2 Weeks after that first crazy lady I gave my chair to a different lady when the break room was full. The next week there was a sexual harassment complaint again against me. I didn't knwo that woman either they both work in the same department though I found out.

Now I am fired just for being friendly. These were old women I was no where near interested in them at all.

About a year ago I said hello to a woman outside the mall when I was waiting for my friend to pick me up and she ran away from me. This is 3 times where women are crazy.

Give this guy a break ladies, he's just saying that some of the women he tries to talk to unnecessarily give him the cold shoulder. I'll be honest here, some women do feel every guy who says "hi" to them or holds a door open for them is trying to hit on them and wants sex from them. Well forgive us for showing good manners, but some women are sooo into themselves that it's actually disgusting. I live in a big city so I totally understand where this this guy's coming from.

Don't feel bad for having your good intentions misunderstood. A slight number of women are depressed on some level and so they passively interpret acts of kindness with suspicion and paranoia...making sometimes even a simple greeting seem very very awkward.

Could you generalize a little more?

Not all women are like that and I think you're misunderstanding something. A woman not wanting to talk to a guy who walks up to her and starts flirting doesn't mean she necessarily thinks he's going to rape her. Many women just feel uncomfortable when some guy hits her with a miserably silly pick-up line or when someone they have absolutely no interest in won't get the message and keeps flirting or following her around. Some women just don't want to get stuck in some awkward, annoying situation like that. Believe me, some guys who don't get rejected out cold immediately get the idea they have a good chance if they just obsess about the woman for a while and keep trying and in some cases they just won't leave them alone.

There is a reason why some women rather walk away. Not every man is a rapist, but there's lots of guys out there who don't get the message either and there really are some freaks in between, so women generally want to stay on the safe side I think.

Well in school in college at work, they get told over and over again to watch out for rape and sexual harrassment, how to deal with rape and sexual harassment etc.. I guess some women take it the wrong way.

Well then, based on the aswers here

Women don't carry whistles to blow.

Women don't carry mace or pepper spray.

Women don't take self-defense courses.

I mean, you ONLY do those things if you're paranoid about something happening to you.

Unfortunately..ONE IN THREE women will get raped. For a lot of (smart) women that statistic hits us like a bus and we try to be aware of our surroundings (not paranoid.)

I've never had anyone accuse me of having the intention to rape them. Mabye you should act less creepy, not wear trenchcoats, or ask strange questions in conversation like, "Uh.. where do you live... is the door locked at night....?"

Do you mean Men only, or even other Women? Because I don't think this is a true statement.
Some Women who might of had bad experiences in life, might be a little over protective of who they date, or hang around with. But wouldn't you? Men should give Women a break, for not every Women wants to be a sex machine. Stop this kind of harassment. Women are a precious vessel, and we deserve to be treated with respect. Just like many good Men deserve respect. Respect is earned, why don't you earn the respect of these Women you are speaking of.

LOL.. this is a similar question I ask all the time... why the hell is it every single woman thinks they've been raped before... I swear in the last 5 years, I have not met a SINGLE woman who has not claimed to have been raped before... its as if its a hip new thing... have sex.. then if you dont like it you can pretend like it was rape... not saying that there arent women who have truly been raped out there... but this is just stupid.

Too much TV like Law and Order SVU .There's also those romance magazines. Maybe they have mental problems. My brother said something similar to me the other night. He said all the women he dated said they were raped or molested at one time or the other. He said I should ask all the ones I date if they have been raped or molested since every other woman has. I think they just want sympathy and attention. So yeah they have mental problems.
