In some butcher shops, the person who cuts meat will always break the shoulder bone before tossing them why?

In the southern part of india in most of the butcher shop they often break the shoulder bone of the goat.why?. Some say it is a spiritual belief. Is it?

I dont know if its a sp. belief or what , but it seems convenient to cut the rest of the goat later on , by first cutting it into half from the shoulder onwards.
